Welcome to the Ravenna Township Fire Department Website
Ravenna Township Fire Department is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week with 3-4 personnel trained in firefighting and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). We provide fire suppression, Advanced Life Support (ALS) EMS, and rescue services to over 9,000 residents living in 21 square miles in Portage County, Ohio. Our crews staff 2 Advanced Life Support rescue squads, 1 rescue engine that carries 1,000 gallons of water and our extrication (Jaws of Life) equipment, a tanker that carries 1,800 gallons of water, and a pick-up used for grass fires.
Our rescue squads routinely transport to University Hospital Portage Medical Center (formerly known as Robinson Memorial Hospital). We also transport trauma, cardiac, and stroke patients to Akron City and Akron General Hospital. The crews will also transport our residents to Cleveland Clinic Twinsburg and Western Reserve Hospital upon request. Critically injured patients may be transported by a helicopter to an appropriate facility.
Thank you to our recent Grant Providers!
FM Global has recently granted the Ravenna Township Fire Department a $2,500 fire prevention grant! Learn more about this grant HERE. With this grant, we have purchased new smoke detectors and will be raffling them off this summer. See how you can enter the raffle HERE.
Ravenna Township Fire Department is grateful to announce it has received a grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation in January, 2016. This $21,478 grant will fund new automobile extrication equipment for the fire department. Without this grant, the fire department would not have been able to replace our current aging equipment.
CSX Beyond Our Rails Foundation granted Ravenna Township Fire Department $2,000 in August 2015 to upgrade Emergency Lighting. Two lightbars were purchased to replace outdated emergency lights.
